It is clear from the evidence provided by Scripture that ‘covenant’ plays a very significant role in God’s dealings with His people. A covenant is established, for example, with Noah (Gen. 6:18), with Abraham (Gen. 15:18), with the Israelites (Exod. 24:8) and with David (Ps. 89:3).
